Applying to MMCF’s Christian Home for Women
Most residents are referred by other agencies such as Big Bend Homeless Coalition, The Shelter, Haven of Rest, The Chelsea House, Disc Village, Apalachee Mental Health Center, and so forth. However, if you or someone you know is dedicated to escaping the homelessness that they are now experiencing and meets the following requirements, they should fill out an application and contact Renee Miller at renee@tallythrift.com or to set up an interview.
Criteria for Acceptance:
- Able to pay $75/week.
- Drug free with a minimum of 3 months clean.
- Physically and mentally able to participate in program.
- You are required to work a full 40 hour week. Attend all household programs and worship services and volunteer in the community.
Scholarships
If you are unable to meet the $75/week requirement, you may apply for a scholarship. To apply, you must attach a letter to your application requesting assistance with program fees. This letter should explain your situation and why you are a good candidate for the scholarship. You must describe your goals and reasoning behind applying for residency with the MMCF Christian Home for Women. Why do you want to make this program work for you? You need to be compelling and motivate the reader to want to help you in any possible way. You may wish to sign the letter with your first name and last initial in order to retain privacy. We will not consider you eligible for sponsorship if you have any finances coming in from the state, family, or employment and you just want to keep that money for other purposes. The scholarships are for women who have absolutely no income and no way of immediately obtaining finances to pay program fees.
